About J.D.

Hello reader. My name is J.D. Dickerson. I’m a photographer.
I’ve sharpened my skill to craft images since the day I was handed a camera and asked to photograph my grandmother’s third wedding. I was eleven years old. Or maybe the affair began the evening I sat at the dinner table with my mother and father and word-vomited (at 8 years old) that it was my life ambition to become a Playboy photographer. Either way, I’m a photographer. A pretty good one. I am one of the now scarce, classically-trained portrait photographers with over a decade of professional experience from advertising and editorial work, to newspaper and commissioned works. My specialty is bringing people to life, in two dimensions. One should be able to look at a portrait and see a subject’s pith, as though looking through a window pane. Isn’t that what we all search for? Those moments of honesty and unadulterated truth? That’s what I photograph. You. No bounds. No rules. No judgment or restriction. It is liberating. Freeing. Sublime. If only we all lived our lives as transparently. Contact me anytime: mail@thebodywebsite.com
